TECHIE’S TAKE: Nokia Edge Pro

Nokia had to bow to the forces of the market and technological realities to shift its focus and get back in the game. We watched with dismay as Nokia was flogged, alongside the other fallen giant, my beloved Blackberry. The good news is Nokia is making a quick comeback, having learnt unforgettable lessons. Nokia has launched a series of new Android smartphones to appease its brand loving customers, albeit on a new operating system. The Nokia 2, 5, 6, 8 and 9 have already been launched to the market, and the users are not disappointed. More interestingly, we vibrate and salivate with anticipation at the news of high end beast of phone in Nokia Edge Pro.

Certainly, this is one beast of a phone that would be both superior in performance, functionality and a pricey tag to boot.

Screen Display

Being branded Edge, the smartphone has a bezel -free, edge to edge design. The display is a massive and bright 6 inch super AMOLED  screen. It has a resolution of 3,840*2,160 pixels. A Corning Gorilla 5 glass protector would ensure the display screen goes undamaged from scratches and falls.


With increased use of video, quality pictures and multi-media content, a super camera for capturing pictures and awesome videos. The Pro is equipped 8GB RAM and up to 256 GB ROM non expandable memory. 


The Nokia Edge Pro  will work on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC chipset, alongside with Deca Core 2.5 GHz Processor. It would run on the latest Android Oreo 8.0 operating system.


This is where the Nokia Edge Pro cuts it right at the edge. Boasting of a massive 42MP Pure view camera at the back, that makes use of the Carl Zeiss optic lens to ensure quality pictures and videos are captured uncompromisingly. The front facing camera boasts of an impressive 20MP,  awesome for selfies.


The Nokia Edge Pro equipped with a non-removable  6,000mAh with a quick charge support. The quick charge is especially useful especially considering the machine it powers.  With guarantee of 2 days charge and a quick charge option to juice up the power, power should be the last thing on your mind as a user when you hit the road.

Though not officially confirmed, rest assured you will getting updates on the same as Nokia plans to launch both Note and Note Pro together.
