Finally, the UCL QF draw (2017-2018) is out and it could not have gotten better, as the campaign moves to the climax for the coveted Europe top competition. A lot of money and pride is up for grabs, with the finals winner pocketing a cool €15.5 million and runners up €11 million. With so much at stake, big clubs like Manchester United are at pain at the loss of revenue earned through participation in the prestigious competition of which Europe’s top elite compete. Madrid have hugely invested in the same, an winning the cup 12 times is awesome achievement. The passion, commitment and focus CR7 puts in play and overall Real Madrid performance in the tournament is an epitome of the high stakes in the game. In the UCL campaign (2016-2017), Real Madrid pocketed approximately €89.5 million. Juventus earned slightly more ( around €102 million) because more market pool money went Juventus way.
The UCL draw was made late this morning and while some would be disappointed, others would be delighted since the draw favors them. Mind you this is a knock out face, with winners take it all to advance to the semi-finals. We can make the following predictions based on the draw done today
  1.  FC Barcelona vs Roma FC
Barcelona are favorites to advance, with superiority in attack, midfield play and of course the mercurial Messi, who is in top form. Unless otherwise, Barcelona have their eyes firm on the price, and Roma would in their way.
Prediction: Barcelona 3-0 Roma (Normal time)
2. Sevilla FC Vs FC Bayern Munich
Sevilla showed class and killer instinct, beating Manchester United at Old Trafford to book a place in the knock out phase. Drawn against giants Bayern, their history in lifting the European Cup back to back may work for them. However, bookers will have their money on Bayern to take the game by the scruff of the neck and ensure they qualify for the semi-finals. Bayern deserve to win, unless odds turn against them. Bayern have been in a bullish mood, and they won’t waste time pushing the right buttons to secure a spot in semi-finals.
Prediction: Sevilla 1-3 Bayern Munich (Normal time)
3. Juventus Vs Real Madrid CF
Juventus have had everything going well for the for as many campaigns except the champions league. Reaching the finals on 2 recent occasions and being beaten by their Spanish rivals has not gone well with them. They showed grit, experience and class in beating Tottenham Hotspurs away at Wembley and deserving a place in the knock out stage. Real Madrid are no push overs, especially not in this elite competition and not at such advanced stage. Their win against proved PSG showed they are pushing hard to cash in the ultimate price 3 times in row. CR7 has been in scintillating form, and is currently the top scorer in the tournament. It is almost a 50-50 contest, but the scales tip in favor of Real Madrid advancing to the semi-finals, with CR7 carrying the team through.
Prediction: Juventus 1-2 Real Madrid (Extra time)
4. Liverpool FC Vs Manchester City FC
What a coincidence that EPL rivals get drawn together in the UCL! Liverpool have being in good form this season , with their fearsome front three: Mane, Firmino and Salah terrorizing teams and scoring some beautiful goals. It is no fluke that they have reached this stage, having beaten Porto an overwhelming 5-0 at home. Salah has been in good form and contributing awesomely to the team’s all round performance. Manchester City, under the guidance of Pep Guardiola have turned around to undisputed EPL run away winners for this campaign. Their pressing and attacking football has had other rivaling teams following shadows as the likes of Sane, Aguero, Silva, and dynamic Kevin De Bruyne proving too good for their rivals. The UCL is another competition altogether that requires a totally different strategy to win. Klopp turned the tables against City in the last encounter at Anfield, beating City but the Citizens showed resilience coming back strongly in the game only to lose at the final whistle 4-3. In the first round, Liverpool were thumped 5-0 at Etihad. Again, it is difficult to predict this one, but City may emerge winners with Bruyne, Aguero and Sane playing a key role in winning the game at death.
Prediction: Liverpool 2-3 Man City (Extra time)
We look forward to the up-coming matches, from 4th of April, 2018.
